About the Job
Front Desk Coordinator / Scheduler

Lakeside Dental Care — Orange Park, FL

We're a privately owned, fee-for-service dental practice looking for a Front Desk Coordinator who runs the office like it's their own — not someone who just answers the phone and waits for the next thing to happen.

This isn't a "sit at the desk" job. It's the first and last impression every patient gets, and the engine that keeps our schedule full and our days running on time.

You'll open and close the office, manage the schedule, check patients in and out, verify insurance and collect payments, and keep the day moving smoothly for the doctor and the clinical team. When something's off in the schedule, you catch it before it becomes a problem.

What You'll Do:
  • Own the front desk from open to close — greet patients, manage phones, and keep the lobby running.
  • Build and protect a tight, accurate schedule; fill openings and fix conflicts before they cost the day.
  • Check patients in and out, verify insurance, and collect payments and balances.
  • Confirm upcoming appointments and follow up on no-shows and unconfirmed visits.
  • Handle day-end tasks — deposits, reports, and closing procedures.
  • Present treatment plans and financing options.
  • Keep patient records and paperwork organized and up to date.
  • Coordinate closely with the doctor and clinical team to keep the day on track.

What Success Looks Like:
The schedule is full and accurate, patients are checked in and out without bottlenecks, and nothing falls through the cracks between the phone, the chair, and the front desk. You notice problems before they happen — an unconfirmed appointment, a gap in the schedule, a balance that hasn't been collected — and you handle it.

What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
  • 401(k) with employer match + free dental care.
  • A privately owned practice with direct access to the doctor — no corporate layers.
  • A stable, organized office where your work is visible and valued.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience at a front desk, in scheduling, or in a customer-facing role (dental preferred).
  • Comfortable managing a fast-moving schedule and multiple priorities at once.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable with follow-through.
  • Friendly and calm under pressure — you're often the first voice or face a patient encounters.
  • Basic comfort with computers and office software; dental software experience a plus.
